We're proud of our successful history with partners of all kinds, and we treat all of our clients as partners. Our engagements range from collaborative development projects with them to turnkey solutions we build and deliver independently. We also blend in third-party solutions, and have formal partnership agreements with select leaders in publishing technology, including:
Adobe Systems is the leading provider of desktop design software, best known for their desktop tools such as Photoshop and InDesign. They are less known for server-based composition tools such as InDesign Server and Scene7, yet these are the technologies most interesting to Silicon Publishing. We were in the very first group of resellers/solution providers for both InDesign Server and Scene7 Web to Print. We have done numerous development projects for Adobe, and our partnership continues to evolve, including work with their newer technologies such as Day, Omniture, and their new HTML5 tools.
Chalex is a software company whose SmartFlo™ product represents a powerful solution for managing document and content authoring and publishing. Built on the right standards, in a modular way, Chalex software can effectively provide workflow orchestration around Silicon Designer or Silicon Paginator solutions, while Silicon Connector can support centralized content repositories in the context of Chalex implementations.
MarkLogic offers an extremely powerful, scalable XML database. Silicon Publishing has a deep history with XML and experimented with many of the early XML databases, none of which performed well. We were excited when we saw MarkLogic being used by our clients in publishing: incredible performance along with content search and aggregation power that fulfills the original XML database vision. MarkLogic makes a powerful back end for Silicon Paginator or Silicon Designer solutions.
MediaBeacon provides a powerful, flexible Digital Asset Management system, which has been around for a long time yet has kept pace with the latest technology. MediaBeacon has championed the cause of metadata standards over the years and their software supports metadata extremely well. Our Silicon Connector product can let you drag assets from MediaBeacon into InDesign and persist a direct link to the MediaBeacon repository.
Oglacs provides custom development services across a wide range of technologies, including iPhone, iPad, and Android applications, document and content management systems, and diverse Adobe applications (from C++ plugins for Illustrator and InDesign to Flex, Flash, and Scene7). We have worked with Oglacs on a number of projects and find them consistently creative, reliable, and successful in making solutions work.
Tecra Systems provides solutions in the web to print including their AccuConnect product based on XMPie. In our years working with XMPie and numerous competing technologies to AccuConnect, we saw a greater satisfaction among customers with Tecra than with any of their competition. We are able to integrate Silicon Designer with Accuconnect to provide a complete web-to-print solution.
Typefi was with us in the first group of InDesign Server solution providers, and like us they worked with InDesign desktop automation in very server-like ways prior to the advent of a true InDesign Server. Their product is a powerful tool for XML round trip through InDesign, which we find complementary to our Silicon Paginator and Silicon Designer products. Our experts at InDesign automation can assist with Typefi implementations, and we recommend Typefi when it is the best tool to meet our clients' needs.
XMPie is a powerful platform for one-to-one marketing, built on InDesign Server. Silicon Publishing has been working with XMPie since 2004, building some very custom deployments of Silicon Designer and Silicon Paginator on an XMPie foundation. In the course of this, XMPie built some APIs (initially for us, now available to all XMPie customers) that allow extensibility of this capable technology.
