Moving Publishing Technology Forward

Services

Adobe Solution Partner

As an Adobe Solution Partner and participant in the Adobe Community Experts program, Silicon Publishing specializes in the automation of Adobe technology, including custom development using Adobe InDesign Server, Flash, and FrameMaker. We create applications for automated page composition and formatting, producing sophisticated multi-media output. One of the company's first custom solutions was a tool for formatting XML with InDesign. Another is an application that uses InDesign for server-based composition of variable data documents. We build interactive Flash front-ends that let users design marketing collateral and other documents online, generating high-quality PDF or InDesign output with an InDesign Server back end. Silicon XML

Silicon Publishing offers development and consulting services related to authoring, managing, and publishing XML content. From defining document architectures to designing and deploying publishing solutions, our XML expertise helps organizations enjoy maximum publishing power while maintaining content in an efficient structure supporting scalable information management. We have years of expertise in XML development, from architecting and structuring content to processing and formatting with XML standards to using proprietary XML tools. Our skill set includes a long-standing background in XSLT, XSL-FO, XHTML, and SVG. We have worked extensively with structured Adobe FrameMaker, and in 2006 we led the effort to add DITA support to Adobe FrameMaker. In 2007 we released DITA-FMx, which extended that DITA support. An InDesign-based DITA rendition engine is scheduled for release in 2008. Contact us to learn more.
