We create applications for automated page composition and formatting, producing sophisticated multi-media output. One of the company's first custom solutions was a tool for formatting XML with InDesign, back in the days of desktop InDesign 1.0. Over the past 10 years we have evolved to fully scalable server-based publishing solutions, typically with Adobe InDesign Server or Adobe Scene7 Web to Print used for high-quality print rendition, with Adobe and other technologies used to publish to web, mobile, and tablet outputs. Our solutions start with template setup using Adobe Creative Suite tools, such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Templates can be set up to support:

• Online editing applications such as Silicon Designer
• Batch composition and multi-channel publishing applications such as Silicon Paginator
• Custom editorial and publishing solutions, including one-to-one marketing applications based on XMPie

We customize Adobe desktop applications to give template designers complete control over publishing and online editing processes. For example, a user in InDesign can quickly mark up the editable areas on a greeting card that will be editable in Silicon Designer, or a designer of catalogs can use a similar approach (and underlying XML technology) to define how database content will flow through page templates according to business rules.

Once templates are defined, XML extracted from the templates is automatically fed to a runtime system built according to a services oriented architecture. Depending on requirements - for example document/output types, the user interface for editing, and the degree/type of personalization - appropriate technologies are called via Web Services to render output for high-quality rendition to print, web, tablet, mobile, and email.
